DandK-Travelers: Anyone remove and replace the border wallpaper?  Or just remove it and leave it off.  I would like to do this but am unsure about the result.  

TimnJo: We removed the border, not that difficult to remove the paper, the problem is removing the glue that remained behind; nothing I found could remove the glue without also damaging the surface behind – acetone, varsol, paint thinner, goo-gone, heat (using a heat gun on it’s the lowest setting), nothing.
So, after much searching, we found some more border paper that we could tolerate, the next

problem was attaching it to the existing gluey surface, we tried just using the heat gun again to soften the original glue and pressing the paper on with little success, then using the supplied glue, with mixed results – initially it looked OK but soon started bubbling and lifting, especially as the new border was about two inches wider than the original.
Eventually, we went to our local hardware store that has an excellent paint and wallpaper manager who listened to our issues and recommended a different glue that we applied generously and seems to be holding up. We can’t remember the name of the new glue but can enquire if requested.

 falconhunter: We applied new border paper directly over the old border about 4 years ago and have never had a problem with it. I used a quality wallpaper paste and only took a couple hours to do the job. We also reupholstered our window treatments when we first got the rig.

  • 1. Click on the Download link provided below.
  • 2. A browser tab will open showing your download in .zip format with the download button.

  • 4. The .zip file will appear in a pop-up winow. Click the "Save" button in the lower right corner of the popup.
  • 5. You may see a brief pop-up notice that you can click on to open the file or you can go to your "Downloads Folder" in your File Explorer.
  • 6. In the File Explorer window, your download will appear at the top of the list of downloads.
  • 7. Left click to "Highlight" the file.
  • 8. In the Header of the window, you'll see "Extract All"... A pop-up will appear, you can click "Extract" button to extract and save to the default location shown in the pop-up and open it from there or you can click on the "Browse" button and choose your preferred location to save it.
  • 9. Click on the "Extract" button.
  • 10. Once Extracted, you can open and view the file.
