Wingard Sensar Antennas? It’s already installed!
Asking this make me feel like a rocket scientist…
We have a wingard satellite, but directtv is getting were it’s not worth having, nothing to
to watch for over a hundred bucks a month, really.
So decided to see what’s on local channels, but don’t know how to.. No really..
If there’s enough to watch at free that would be great also. We don’t watch directv for
        days now.
        Thanks for your replies.

I have felt the same way. I used Direct TV too on my old 5W and it costs me $70/month (no movie channels). Plus when you move out of your home area you can’t get the local channels anymore (channels 2 – 20ish) so you have to call Direct TV and have your address changed. Every stop you repeat this process and in some areas that service is not even offered.

So on my new 38RS (arriving this next week) we’ve chosen to only use the cable service provided by some parks, the over the air direct TV from my antenna or play movies on my DVD player. Plus make sure during my PDI the dealer explains how to switch back and forth.

Now to help with your question if I understand it right: in order for me to watch the RV park’s cable service and not my Direct TV satellite service I had to push a button on a box behind my TV (sorry I’m more technical), then next I had to change the “source” on my TV. Like me, my dealer should have explained how to do this during my PDI, but didn’t.

If I understand the question correctly, if you are switching from cable to satellite, in our case, all we do is select a different ‘source’ from the Samsung remote. For satellite, we select HDMI. In our case, the little box beside the TV is a TV antenna booster, with a green light that illuminates when the booster is turned on – we use this when selecting over the air channels from our Winegard crank up antenna. Do not have the booster turned on when watching cable tv.

        Hope this helps

Also, pull the operation manual from the internet and it will tell you how to tune the antenna to get the OTA channels to come in at the highest power. I never had Satellite or Cable service and with the conversion to all digital I see no need to spend the money like you have said. I also purchased a USB tuner to plug in to my laptop and use it as a DVR.

IM going to build a RV port. So if I get another standing antenna, since the rv port will cover the antenna.
Can I just plug it into the cable.

        Thanks for your reply’s
