I just got home today from New York state with a new 2018 GMC Sierra 3500 DRW 4×4 Double Cab pick-up.  I smiled the entire 1100 mile trip home back to FL.
I sold my 2013 Silverado 3500 DRW 4×4 extended cab last week to a guy in OK.   Why NY? No one had another Double Cab DRW in the country. If I ordered it would have taken up to 8 weeks and I would be without a pick-up. So off to NY I went.
The changes made in 2017 to the GM trucks are awesome.  I really enjoyed the 2013 and it was 100% trouble free the 39k miles I owned it.  This is my 3rd Duramax and all have been great.
This new GMC is awesome!  Noticeably more powerful, the exhaust brake is smother, shifts are smoother and the cab is super quiet.  The seats are very supportive and comfortable and even power ventilated.
It is a loaded SLT but equipped just like the Denali.  The Denali badge is not available on the Double Cab.
Anyway, I can’t wait to take the camper out next month.  Now I have to order the Hensley fifth wheel bed adapter for the GM factory installed under-bed hitch platform that came with the truck which also included a goose neck adapter.

Congratulations Phillip on the new truck.  Sounds like you’ll be cruising in comfort.

When you get hooked to your fw can you tell me if there are any leveling/clearence issues?   Thanks

        Tom

I will update if so but i seriously doubt there will be.  The bed depth is the same as the ’13.  That will be a different story, however, on the ’19 models.  There will be a complete make over on the GM trucks except the engine.  I have read that the ’19 models will have the deeper bed by at least 5 inches and will be taller like the other brands which will make it harder to tow level.  My ’13 tows perfectly level with about 7.5 inches of bed rail clearance.  I suspect this will be the same.

My 36FWS hooked to the same ’18 3500 Duramax Dually has no issues with level/clearance.
