- Has anyone who tows anything behind their coach had any issues with the local or state law enforcement as to length or just tripe towing in general?
I want tomorrow tow my 16′ boat behind mu 35SB3 but don’t want to run afoul of the laws governing such.
What if you’re stopped? Do they fine, make you leave the trailer or just turn the other way?
I’ve heard in FL that they just let it go but having never tried it don’t know what to expect.Posted: 1:49 PM – Jul 16, 2014It depends on what state you would be triple towing in. The following is a web page with information that might be helpful for you, or you can check with your state for what is allowed.http://rv-roadtrips.thefuntimesguide.co … towing.php
In the information I was looking at it doesn’t show Florida as a state that allows triple towing. Might want to check with the state.

Posted: 12:35 PM – Sep 04, 2014there’s currently a thread on RV.net in the fifth wheel category that discusses double towing in Florida.Posted: 4:59 PM – Sep 04, 2014There is a misconception as to what “Double” and “Triple” towing really is. I’ve been “Double” towing for several years now and have never been stopped in any State we’ve been in. As mentioned there are different factors involved from one State to another (Length, Double, or Triple Tow). Most States allow “Double” towing and few allow “Triple” towing and a few does not allow either. I have done a lot of research on it since we Double Tow a small car (Honda Fit) behind our Carri-Lite. I know this is going to probably start a Debate about Double vs Triple Towing and how its defined. I’m personally not going to get into a debate about it. I suggest you do some online research and come to your own conclusions and recommend if you have any doubt about any State, contact them directly and get their State Laws for clarification and peace of mind. Some say it depends whether you’re towing with a 5th Wheel hitch or a bumper pull. OK, that’s as far as I’m diving in.
