After four years of use the cherry wood surfaces need to be refinished. I was wondering what is the best way to go about doing this and what’s the best finish to use? Thanks

Posted: 12:02 AM – Jun 22, 2015We have the maple kitchen table in our 2008 cameo. We used a electric palm sander on the top and then put on 3 coats of clear lacquer. The natural wood grain looks great.
Posted: 8:21 PM – Jun 22, 2015Being an older Carriage, our wood is Honey Oak. I have never really needed to sand my kitchen table but I just cleaned it really, really good until it was down to a “dull” color. They also have wax and buildup removers if you feel you need it. If you still have scratches, you may need to lightly sand it. I have always used Min Wax semi transparent stain. The color is is a very close match to what I have. I use a paper towel to wipe a light coating on and only once in awhile do I need a 2nd coat. I have re-stained all the wood in the entire RV {and boy do we have a lot} probably 4 times in the 19 years we have had our Carriage. I touch up quite frequently as I see the need. Let us know what you decide. Hugs, Di
