Our recliners are located in the dining room (curb side) slide and supposed to be placed back-to-back and strapped down when towing. Also have to make sure they are on the slide & not on the rear flooring. Our recliners are rocker-recliners (made by Lippert) and are heavy. Besides the weight, they are hard to move around because the chair part is attached to a rocker frame so if you push/pull the chair only the chair moves and not the base. You either have to try to pick the chair up or bend down and grab onto the base. Both of these are not easy to do considering the close working space you have to get both chairs lined up to where they need to be for traveling. Has anyone come up with a way to move these chairs easier???? I know some have replaced them, and we may do this down the road, but right now we’re just looking for a better way to deal with them.

Posted: 4:37 AM – Feb 26, 2015The rocker recliner that is on my trailer had around 24 small rubber tits on the bottom of the frame. I guess to keep the chair from moving around while traveling. I removed 4 from each area with a pair of pliers. This made in much easier to move. Yours might not be made the same way.

Posted: 4:00 PM – Feb 26, 2015What about mounting some sort of movers foot on all 4 corners that would make them easier to slide? We put in a relining love seat made by Lazyboy and solved the problem.
Posted: 4:28 PM – Feb 26, 2015we moved our recliners into the spot where the sofa was, in the slide, the motor on the slide sounded like it boged down when we moved it. would this hurt anything? The recliners came with the 2012 cameo. Also would like to replace sofa with a sofa bed in order to avoid blowing up (and down) the air bed. concerned about the weight on the slide.

Posted: 7:39 PM – Feb 26, 2015We installed a wood laminate floor in our fifth wheel which has the recliners in the rear. Our solution was to purchase 2 round rugs and flip them upside down to put under the recliner frames. This protects the wood floor and allows us to slide the recliners around when we tie the backs together for travel.

DonOur chairs also have some of these supports on the bottom, round frame. Ours are a hard plastic and there’s at least several of them. I removed them from one chair a while ago as I saw they were hanging up on the carpet edge at the slide as well as the hardware for the hold down strap that’s mounted to the floor. Even with that it’s difficult to maneuver the chairs because of the weight coupled with the chair itself being mounted to the rocker frame that allows the chair part to move independent of the frame.

I have moved our in with 2 people at the dinning room table and 2 on the loveseat. If it can handle that, than the furniture will not be an issue.

Thanks!
Posted: 11:37 AM – Mar 02, 2015I will have to research. It has been almost 5 years. It was one of the smaller ones. I think this was it: http://www.la-z-boy.com/Product/6437-81 … -Loveseat/
Posted: 12:10 PM – Mar 02, 2015When I am ready to run the slide in I swivel the recliners back to back and put a pillow from the couch between the backs. Very easy to do and they ride great.
