We just traded our 1999 Cameo F27RKS for a 2011 F32FWS before all the virus issues, planning on a spring trip this month for the first time in 3 years.  We are dairy farmers, so not much time off, but have enjoyed our past trips to Cape Cod, Cape May, Thousand Islands, Gettysburg, Poconos and Washington DC immensely.  So now we are busy cleaning our “new” rig and making some upgrades, and hopeful for a trip this fall.  Grand Canyon, and a few other places, are on our bucket list.  We should be easy to spot…probably not too many folks still using a 2001 Dodge Ram to pull our new toy.  We are looking forward to meeting some of you out there.

Thanks.  I’m not smart enough to retire, either from farming or the fire service.  We do have 3 “senior” members, including me, who have been told not to respond unless we have an all-hands call, under the current circumstances.  After 49 years, I could get to like that, but it sure feels weird to hear the tones and not respond.  As for farming, my better half and I will cut back to 40 hours/week each when and if we ever retire.

I worked for FD for 25 years and under our retirement system I was basically kicked out of the department.  I could have stayed working but for less than I would make on retirement sooo…  I retired in 2004 and operated a fire investigation company until 2016.  Since then we have spent one winter in Florida, two in Arizona, and last winter in Mazatlan Mexico. Mexico was and is our favorite, returning again next year if traveling is again allowed.  Don’t wait too long to retire, most of the rewards of working are experienced around a campfire with an adult beverage and good friends!!  Enjoy what makes you happy!!

So wish we would have sold the S&B last year .. may be awhile now due to the crazy virus and housing market changes.

Welcome & love seeing that Cummins3500 info.  We have a 2015 Dodge Cummins single cab dually 3500 and just love her! Trading is hard.  We were unfortunate to have a fire in our 1996 or we would still have her.  Updates every 4 years or so made it even better.  I miss our Carriage every day but life goes on.  Keep traveling as much as you can as we have a beautiful country with so much to see.  We are on our 24th year of fulltiming and still haven’t seen it all.  Like you we had arrived in Florida a week before the stay in place order arrived and 7 weeks is a lot but so far we have the OK to leave May 8th

I agree with the don’t wait statement but if you do, hopefully you’ll have years of adventures ahead of you if your health hold.  Hugs, Di
