      Hello everyone,

This is my first post since I joined the forum early last month. My 2011 Carriage Cameo 37CKSLS came equipped with the generator pre kit already installed. In the front compartment I see that there is an electrical box for installing the main power feed to the generator. My specific question is were will I find the bulk wires that are required to feed the remote start switch inside the camper. When I unscrewed the remote starter switch inside the camper it has 5 colored wires connected to the back of the remote start wall mount.

I cant seem to be able to find the other end of the remote start wires in any of the belly compartments. My only option right now is to pull the basement belly walls off and trace the wires from the back of the remote wall switch to wherever they terminate.

      Any advise would be appreciated,
Bryan (proud owner of 2011 Cameo)

I think they should be in the area near or in the box that you did find.

Why not tell folks where you found it.

My wife found them tucked up in the front generator compartment towards the drivers side of the compartment. They were very well hidden on top of a frame rail section wire tied into a 40 foot roll. My wife blamed my color blindness for not being able to locate the wires.

All is good now for a new generator install.

      Thanks
      Bryan

I want to install my generator in there but don’t have the wiring. What is there to it? It’s another 50 amp cable or what?

Welcome to the forum. We have the same model Carriage as you and really enjoy it. We have logged about 10,000 miles since buying it this spring. As you are probably aware already there are some folks on this forum with absolutely impressive depth of knowledge about these units. Good luck with your generator install. I noticed that ours, which came from the factory with a generator has the 6500 watt, while the 5500 seems more common. We are able to run both a/c’s with this generator. It does suck a lot of lp to do so btw. Cheers.

It has to be an Onan generator, that’s what wiring connector is installed. We usu a Honda 2000 for charging batteries, ect and another tied together to power A/C and appliances. At 47lbs each I chain them to the axles or rear hitch and have no problem falling asleep.
