Dining Table re-arrangement

We have the Lifestyle with full wall slide.  The space between the left side of table and window and right side of table and theater seats is really tight.  Has anyone turned the table lengthwise and situated chairs to face window?  I am thinking about doing this. It appears that the table is currently screwed into the buffet.  I would like to turn the table clockwise, extend the leaf and then screw to buffet. I bought some more comfortable dining chairs thus the space on each side of the table is even tighter. I found a table leg on Amazon that is similar to the single leg on the dining table that I could stain and fasten to the bottom for support.

Yes, we did this in our Carriage unit and I love it.  Our leaf was flat wood so we did add a piece of trim to cover the opening left in the center.  Much easier to sit at, more space to move, super functional and we have enjoyed eating with a view!

Thanks for the update!  I think we will much prefer facing the window for meals.  I believe our leaf is also just a flat wood piece but shouldn’t be a problem to do what you did.  If you have a pic of how you did yours that would be great .  My husband is not thrilled with the idea as he would not be able to see the TV but I don’t think that would be such a big problem.
