I need some help: I know that I’ve seen some reviews on cell phone boosters but now that I could really use one I can’t find them. If you could let me know of a booster that you really like I would appreciate hearing from you.

A number of years ago we used a Wilson booster and liked it, but that was two RV’s ago.

I use a Wilson Sleek. It has worked very well for me from New Hampshire through the deep south and into Texas.

I also use the Sleek for my Verizon smart phone with the home/ office accessory kit

I’ve been using this set up for 2 years now literally in most of the United States. I was in New Mexico coming out of the panhandle of TX where I was told no cell reception, it had just 1 bar but enough to use. If you get in the high Mountains all bets are off. I also got the 12″ antenna for the truck and was told that if I get the trucker antenna the boost signal could get better. The small antenna that came with kit I use with the 5th wheel out a window placed on the 12 cookie sheet on the roof.

If it is not too late,
For most voice, 2g or 3g will do fine, and these can be had for about $80-100 discounted. 3gstore.com has great expertise in this area. For a little bit more you can get some limited 4g bands boosted with one device specialized for your Verizon versus ATT carrier. For a bit more you get a model that can switch between carriers:

The cradles have adjustable jaws to hold a great variety of cell phones and my-fi units- one at a time.

Unlike. ATT’s early 4g (or HTT+ which is not true 4g), boosting 4g LTE has become very complex with multiple bandwidths being used in different parts of the country. This is true for all direct antennae wire connect, single device cradles and also repeaters. Foil insulating materials reduce signal strength inside the 5er and often make reception inside more difficult so an outside antennae may be needed for inside use even when there is a good signal outside. A lot of new cell phones and myfi units lack a port to connect directly to an antennae directly, so the cradle (such as one of the sleek units) or repeater must be used. The cradle solution is much less complicated and much cheaper. With two antennaes and two power supplies it is fast and easy to move between the truck and the 5er.

The signal gain from a trucker spring mount antennae is much greater than any other, but does not work for LTE. Still gets 3g and most carriers still send/receive both. The trucker as well as the basic magnetic antennae, and the 12 inch tall one have better 2g and 3g boosting power than the best of the full spectrum 2g/3g/LTE antennaes.

Got too many loose items on your dashboard in your truck? Try proclipusa.com for custom mounts and holders for cell phones, tablets, my-fi units etc.
