- I have the 4 point system and it works pretty good, not perfect but pretty good. I’m thinking of upgrading to the 6 point system. I would like the auto hook and unhook, and a remote key fob plus the 5th wheel would be more stable.
I asked Bigfoot for a price. $795 for the cylinders, $495 for the control panel and $400 to install.
I would install on Cameo 34SB3. Anyone have this system? Are you happy with it?
Posted: 12:04 AM – Mar 10, 2017I suspect more than a few of my compatriots on this forum will respond, but it does appear that I’ll be the first. I would ask Bigfoot if they’ve fixed the leveling problem that a lot of us have had. And, because you mentioned it, I can tell you that their auto “rehook” system isn’t worth the time it takes to talk about. Namely, the system simply doesn’t work. Normally, my system is off by 6″ to a 1′ after I press the “reconnect” button.Having said the above, I still think the Bigfoot system is the best going. I just wish they’d fix the old problems before they move on.
YMMV.

Much cheaper/faster to install the manual scissor Jacks at the extreme rear, or the electric version if you prefer.Given that your unit is a 34, probably only 36.5 feet overall, you might find that adding the Plug-It-Right Stabilizers will solve all of your issues. They are very easy to install and operate.

Posted: 6:38 AM – Mar 10, 2017Ymmv,I found the buttons on the remote to be opposite to my way of thinking (up should be down and vice versa), but the one button memory feature does work for me. However, for “one button” memory to work accurately for me, it does require me to use the remote, not the control panel when unloading, and no minor adjustments after auto level finishes. And if the campsite is soft or wet, the 5er often settles just enough to need additional adjustments before loading.
Posted: 8:03 AM – Mar 10, 2017On my 34ck3 I’ll just put the manual scissor jack back there after setting up. I do a lot of forest roads and if there where jacks mounted permanenly all the way to the rear I know they would have been torn off by now. My bike rack drags at times going through dips or coming off of elevated ground. Just something to think about.Posted: 5:41 PM – Mar 12, 2017Hi
Whether you need the 4 or 6 point system is really determined by your frame size. 8″ frames should get the 6 pt & 10″ frame or bigger should only need the 4 point.
The leveling system is just that;a leveling system but it does offer some stability. That said, I’m sure you will get a bit more stability if you went to the 6 point as the 4 point is at the front of your coach and behind your rear wheels. The extra jacks are installed in front of the wheels. You can get an aftermarket stabilizing system which will offer more stability.
We had our front & rear stabilizers on when we went to the BF 4 point system in 2010. We tried it with just the levelers and it was better but I needed more stability so we put our stabilizers back on and are very solid. You could also consider installing a set of scissor jacks at the very rear of your coach which would help with stability.
We added the upgrade control panel kit when it came out & overall have been very happy with it. I would say ours will auto retract to hitch height about 80% of the time. It will not do good if we have to manual level at any point like being in a very un-level site. You may have a bit of a hard time reading the screen if you are parked in direct sunshine but Dutch is so used to it, he knows which buttons to use IF the screen is not perfectly visible.
What is is about your 4 point that is only pretty good? Sometimes it is just an adjustment, etc that will bring it back. If you would like to discuss why your system is not up to par, you can e-mail me at plugitright@gmail.com or call me at 941-416-0918 10 am to 10 pm 7 days a week pacific time right now.
They have offered you very good pricing but I would check to see if these prices are plus or including MI sales tax just so you have your total cost.
If after all the valuable info you should receive here, you choose to look at stabilizer system or scissor jacks & then you might only need the control panel upgrade kit which a customer you can do his/herself.

Posted: 5:46 PM – Mar 12, 2017Thanks John,
If we get “all better” maybe we’ll see you in Florida this coming winter. Hugs, DiJohnD222 wrote:If you have the old strong Carriage frame, you do not need the extra hydraulic legs.
