Here are a few pointers & facts that you need to know before adding an Image into a Post/Reply.
IF YOU USE “ADD ATTACHMENTS” FOR ADDING AN IMAGE/PHOTO, PLEASE “RENAME” YOUR IMAGE PRIOR TO UPLOADING. RENAME USING YOUR USERNAME, TOPIC KEYWORD, AND POSSIBLY TOPIC NUMBER IN THE NEW IMAGE TITLE.
- When using the Add Image option, it is necessary to know the URL Address of the Image you’re inserting.
- NON-PREFERRED METHOD: PLEASE DO NOT USE Direct Linking to an Image. Direct Linking is when you find an image on a webpage and you right click and select “Copy Image Address” from the drop-down popup window. If that website image is moved or deleted from that page and you’ve used its Address, it’ll be lost from your Post/Reply as well.
- PREFERRED METHOD: Right click on an Image on a webpage and in the popup window, select “Save Image As” and save it to your device, then “upload” it to an Image Hosting program. There are several “Free” programs available such as: Microsoft OneDrive, Google Photos, Dropbox, Pinterest. Just to name a few.
In the Post/Reply window there are rows of editing option icons available to assist with your Post/Reply. The “Add Image” icon appears as a framed picture. Click on the Add Image icon.
Copy & Paste the Image URL from your selected Image Hosting Program into the Source Box.
Once you paste the link into the Source Box, if you wish, you can adjust the dimensions (size) of your Image. When satisfied, click on the “OK” button.
After clicking the “OK” button, you’ll be brought back to the Topic/Reply window where you’ll see your inserted Image. If you’re satisfied with your Post/Reply, click on the “Submit” button in the lower right corner of the Post/Reply section.
