Upon taking delivery of our new Lifestyle, I noticed the roofing material is a different vinyl of that used on our 2011 Cameo. It still is vinyl, but it does not appear to be of the same thickness that is on the Cameo. Also, it is textured which should make it a little less slick while on the roof.
It does look like it lays better without the wrinkles many complained of on the Cameo. Also gone are the transition pieces where the roof changed attitude.
I’m curious if anyone has any knowledge of this particular roofing material? Do you think it is equal to the previous being used, better, or worse. The other seemed very thick and durable and I’m just wondering how this one compares. It certainly looks like a more finished, smoother installation. I just hope it is a durable.
        Thanks, Phillip

If it’s anything like ours, it will be problematic. If it’s Lippert’s material, it is far too thin. Ours is textured, but I’d rather have something thicker. It takes a very small branch to cut it. We had a 2004 HR Presidential that had a thick membrane with a felt backing. Our membrane needs replaced, and we will likely go with a commercial grade TPO. Rubber chalks over time.

Although marketing brochures cited 1/2 inch plywood and TPO by name, my February 2013 build Lifestyle had BriteTEK Roofing Membrane by Dicor.

Dicor recommends 409, Fantastic or mild detergent rather than the Murphy’s Wood Soap or Dawn dish soap recommended for TPO.

            Neither likes products containing solvents.

I believe TPO had 10 year warranty, but Brite-TEK only 5. Well past both…

We have FlexArmor RV Roof, had it installed in 2019. Original roof material was very thin and not adhered well at front around AC area. We have been very pleased with the FlexArmor roof.

Yes, the OSB roof decking on the 2010 Cameo was a lot stiffer than the 1/2 plywood on the 2013 Lifestyle.

Glad to hear that the FlexArmor is holding up well. Lots of lifetime warranties don’t mean squat if the company goes out of business.
