Getting shocked

2006 Carri-Lite 36 KSQ  I bought September of 2020.  Recently, I have received several Shocks / tingles when touching metal.  First one was while working on hoses going to water tank, (BTW I can now fill my on board tank from city water connection) I was wet, ground was wet, laid arm on frame around basement storage received tingle. (AC power connected at 15 Amps), next one was in the rain, adjusting the steps I knelt down to adjust the step feet and recede tingle on hand as I braced to get to ground.

Obviously I have bad ground.  My fear is that these tingles can turn into shocks and the shock will grow to an electrocution. Looking for wire diagram (I paid for the 06 brochure package / manuals but didn’t see a wire schematic )if its in there please let me know.  Next, option would be to run new grounds? Suggestions as to from where to where?

I have checked obvious grounds and those are tight and clean.

Thanks in advance for any help /suggestions you may provide

Congrats on your “new to you” Carriage. Thanks for being a member.  Schematics of any kind are extremely rare and almost impossible to come by since Carriage Inc. is no longer in business. The few schematics I have been able to get came from a previous member that owned a Carriage Dealership years ago. They sent all they had kept. Thor Inc. bought all the rights to Carriage at auction and refuse to relinquish any material or information regarding Carriage. I scour the Internet daily for anything Carriage related to show up. There has been a large investment of time & money invested here to provide as much support for Carriage & Lifestyle owners as possible. You can also check our Documents & Files Table of Contents ( https://www.carriage-lifestyle-owners-club.com/documents-files/carriage-service-manual-toc/ ) for additional information. We have some very knowledgeable members here that will give you some assistance, I’m sure.  Good luck in getting all and any issues resolved.

              ER,

if it happens at all shore power locations, sounds like someone bonded the 120 VAC shore power neutral to ground, either in main panel, transfer switch box (if you have one), or inverter, (if you have one).  The bonding is only supposed to be back at shore power’s source panel.  The tingle is most noticed if stabilizers or big foots are on wood/other instead of earth.  Just cut the unwanted bonding connection wire.

if it happens in just one or a few shore power locations, those locations could have the ground and neutral wires incorrectly/inadequately  connected or swapped.  This happens more often than you would think.

I too would recommend having at least one stabilizer or jack in direct contact with the earth. This should remove any voltage on the camper shell or other metal parts.
It also gives a pathway in case of lightning strike.
Just met a couple in Texas who had lightning strike s pedestal they and 5 other campers were connected to. With the motorhome levelled and stabilized on plastic supports the electricity looked for the path of least resistance. Happened to be every bit of electronics such as a/c, fridge, furnace, etc., Also took out all of the electronics in the engine itself. $8000 in damage and stranded in a cabin at the campground since March. They’re hoping that the final parts get in in the next couple weeks so they can move on. They’re full timers.
Can’t say they wouldn’t have lost some with the camper in contact with earth, but maybe not so much.
Spent my career as an electrician so I know a little.

Oh and by the way, their insurance company said they could not confirm it was caused by lightning so they refused the claim. The people will be taking the insurance company to court when they finally get up and running.
