KeymasterRemoved the walls from my 2011 Cameo 36 FWS a few months ago and just now reinstalling. However, the ceiling portion that mounts from the wall of the small pass-thru door towards the center of the storage bay has me a little perplexed. Can’t find any references to it in the online documents. Any help or pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

RasBrown,
I have the same year/model. Sept 2009 build date. I have nothing on the ceiling in the basement storage area other than pipes and a few wires.
Do you mean the upper section of the rear wall closest to the small access door on the drivers (street not curb) side of the 5er? That just hangs there, being held in black by screws into the outer wall of the 5er, into the floor of the 5er basement, and screws coming into it from the rear wall panel more to the center of the storage area. The latter are the longer screws. Do not mix them up or you can put a screw right through the fiberglass on the outside 5er wall, or a hole in your holding tank below the floor. You do need to bring that panel into the center of the storage space, move the bottom almost full forward, and the top almost 45 degrees angle towards the rear, then slide it outward towards the small drivers side access door, until almost to that door, then slide the bottom rearward into the vertical position, moving the top very little if at all.
To get about 15% more storage, I was able to move that wall section outermost on drivers side rearward a few inches so it is right up against the waterline drain.. The parallel section on the curb side I moved back about 4 inches. That center section by the toilet drain pipe then required a bit of cutting, but it moved back as well. To make the center section easier to get back into place, the top cutout for toilet drain is quite wide, but I filled that with a 6-inch x 10-inch piece of extra wall material. I say extra because I recall I originally had 4 wall pieces, with every corner being pretty square. I now have only 3. Two are parallel, then one angled piece.

I have been waiting for others – to be honest – I do not know. It has been way too long ago since that area was stock. The notch looks like it might be a wall not ceiling panel and that notch goes over the top of the sewer drain pipe.
If you take a photo of the panels that you do have back up in place, it might stimulate the brain recall.

KeymasterKeymasterThe storage bay/basement in my rig is comprised of 4 pieces. The front wall (is the furthest forward towards the front of the trailer) backs up to the freshwater tank and the back wall is made up of 3 pieces. I’m believe this particular piece may be something the original owner created since it doesn’t seem to be made from the same material as the other panels although carpet covering is the same.

Steve, sorry that I did not respond just seeing this as I am looking for something else.
i left the 2010 in NH where I hope to sell it in the spring. Making the same mod to a 2013 as I type. The largest wall panel is on the curb side. I moved that as far back as possible. Essentially right up against that interior 6-foot long storage pipe for your sewer hose (that is too small for the pipe to actually fit).

Steve,
my thoughts this time are to make the storage bay even larger to allow more flexibility in laying out items. That back wall is there for two reasons.
when AC is on you don’t want the cold air to “fall” down and out every time you open the storage door, nor do you want the humid air creeping back in.
when the heat is on you want to have as close to a closed loop as possible so the furnace sucks the return air from the occupied space not the great outdoors when you open the storage door.
those black wall panes was the fast and easy way to accomplish most of that.
one owner created ductwork that directly connects the furnace and that wide return air vent in the stairs into the bedroom. AAND he kept the black wall panels because without them every time he opened the storage door he would lose warm air between the living space floor and the floor in the storage area – that interstitial space is almost 20% of the volume of the 5er. Same with the summer AC.
my thoughts this time is to close off a lot of the interstitial space more directly, leaving exposed a bit more plumbing that is otherwise hidden by both oem layout of walls and the layout I made for the 2010.
